About me
Hello and welcome to Erimus Counselling. My name is Lois. I am a qualified, BACP-registered counsellor specialising in an empathetic, person-centred approach. I am based in the Chilterns, close to Tring.
I have first hand experience of how mental health can impact all aspects of a person’s life and how transformative counselling can be. Because of the support I have been given through counselling I am determined to provide a positive counselling space for others. My aim is to promote positive change and improve mental health and coping skills.
I am passionate about creating safe, trusting, confidential and inclusive spaces for people to discuss emotional difficulties and concerns. I know how daunting the idea of starting counselling can be; you’ve tried to manage on your own for so long. It can feel exhausting holding it all in, feeling like you have to keep it all together. Starting counselling doesn’t mean you have failed at that, it simply means you are ready for a change. Together we will work gently to help you to understand yourself better, create a way of being that feels feels lighter and more manageable.
You may be wondering what our sessions would actually look like. They are a space for self-exploration where you can talk freely and I will listen in a non judgemental way. You don’t need to know what you are going to bring or say in the session, we’ll start wherever you feel comfortable and go at your own pace. My role is to actively listen and to make sure that you won’t be doing this alone. I’ll walk alongside you. I will help you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, to help you find your own solutions.
I have experience in a variety of mental health and wellbeing roles, which means I have worked across a diverse range of mental health challenges.
I have both professional and personal experience of neurodiversity and ensure that my sessions are sympathetic and personally tailored.
I recognise that each of my clients is unique and therefore my counselling should fit around everyone’s individual needs and pace.
About
“We shall be”
Erimus is a Latin term meaning “we shall be”. I feel it embodies my person-centred approach to treating counselling as a journey, helping my clients become at one with themselves.
